Programmes

Language is never only grammar. Our courses and conversation cycles connect learning with cinema, literature, music and everyday cultural practice.

Programmes can be designed for adults, young audiences, professionals or institutional partners, and run independently or inside a host institution.

This is not a conventional cooking class. Participants discover a dish through its vocabulary, its territory, its literature and the memory that surrounds it.

A session may combine a linguistic introduction, literary or cultural storytelling, ingredients and vocabulary, live preparation, historical and regional anecdotes, a shared tasting and open conversation.

A possible first focus: pesto genovese and Ligurian culture.

Reading as a shared act: encounters with writers, translators and readers, moving between languages and literary traditions.

Formats range from intimate readings to public conversations co-programmed with libraries, bookshops and cultural centres.

Exhibition projects built around dialogue: artists working across geographies, materials and languages, in conversation with audiences.

LAI develops curatorial concepts and can co-produce with galleries, cultural centres and institutional partners.

Live formats where musical and performative languages meet - from chamber concerts to interdisciplinary performance.

Programmes are designed with venues and artists, and often paired with a conversation or a public encounter.

Workshops and long-form projects where participants are contributors rather than spectators: skills, memories and practices circulate in both directions.

Especially suited to collaborations with schools, universities, associations and community organisations.

BRENFF is LAI's major international cinema initiative - an international film festival conceived as a space for cultural encounter, dialogue and co-creation.
